North Wisconsin borders the state of Michigan and the shores of Lake Michigan,
third largest of the Great Lakes. This location provides visitors with an abundance
of outdoor attractions and activities to enjoy while in the area. Marinette
is one of the larger towns in North Wisconsin, and is home to a satellite campus
of the University of Wisconsin. Other prominent towns in this region include
Antigo and Hayward, each with a host of traveler amenities. Antigo features
a number of parks and green spaces that entice guests to picnic, hike, bike
and more among the wilds of Wisconsin. Several golf courses also dot Wisconsin's
north end, however the playing season is shorter than other national destinations
due to the colder climate. For an alternate outdoor adventure, Hayward is home
to the Hay Lake Ranch, a stable that offers trail and pack trips for visitors
to delight in.
